Ruah Lee Obituary

Ruah "Rudi" Jane Duffy Lee, 84, of Dunwoody, Ga, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Known for her big laugh, warm heart, and boundless energy, Rudi was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who lived every chapter of her life with joy, purpose, and love. Born on June 24, 1941, in Grand Rapids, Mi, Rudi was raised by Mary Frances Buck Barlow, her stepfather Clifford W. Barlow, and her father, Torrance Leo Duffy. She graduated with honors from Creston High School in 1959 and went on to attend Michigan State University.

Rudi lived an adventurous life as a stewardess for American Airlines, flying out of Chicago and Boston Her life took a romantic turn in Boston, where she met Michael ("Mike") Lee and were married on September 18, 1965.

Rudi led the definition of a full and active life. She sang in choirs, led Brownie troops, served as a room mom and PTA President, played tennis and bridge, and somehow still found time to be a licensed Realtor in 4 states and a professional interior designer. She was the life of every party and made birthdays, holidays, and ordinary days feel special. Her greatest joy, was her role as "Mimi" to her 6 grandchildren. She loved deeply, gave generously, and never passed up an opportunity to make someone laugh, offer a listening ear, or prepare a delicious meal (for a crowd!). She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Michael Lee, and is survived by their 3 children: Robyn Lee Files (Dunwoody, GA), Michelle Lee Henderson (Dunwoody, GA), and Michael Clifton Lee, Jr. and his wife Stacie Lee (Suwanee, GA). She also leaves behind her 6 beloved grandchildren: Annabelle Lee Blankemeyer and her husband Nathan, Michael Lee III, Preston Files, Mary Beth Lee, David Lee, and Abby Henderson, who all cherished their sweet, sassy, and endlessly fun Mimi.

A memorial service celebrating Rudi's vibrant life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Dunwoody United Methodist Church - Small Chapel, 1548 Mt. Vernon Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338. The Lee family warmly welcomes all who knew and loved Rudi to join them.

My heart goes out to the family of my dear friend, Ruah Jane, who has been my friend since we were born, 84 years ago. Always the brightest star in the room and in our hearts. Her family was her crowning achievement, and meant the world to her. She is now one of the brightest stars in the sky, looking down on all of you with love. May all your wonderful memories bring you comfort.
