ALLAN DALE ANDERSON, 85 LOVING FATHER, GRANDFATHER AND GREAT-GRANDFATHER MACHESNEY PARK - Allan Dale Anderson, 85, of Machesney Park passed away at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, during the third quarter of the Chicago Bears game. Born March 27, 1926, in Rockford, son of Oscar Roy and Ila (Moberg) Anderson. He was drafted out of East High School to serve in the U.S. Army, during World War II. Married Beverly J. Lawler on March 24, 1948, in Poplar Grove. He enjoyed organizing bus trips to Branson, Mo., with wife and many friends. Employed by All Contractors Equipment for many years. Member of LLL Society, Loves Park Veterans of Foreign Wars and Moose Club, where he advanced to fellowship degree of Loyal Order of Moose. Al was one of the founding members of Harlem Youth Council (Harlem Community Center). Avid sports fan, especially a Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. Survivors include daughters, Cindy Johnson and Pamela (John) DeJong; grandchildren, Todd Davis, Tracy (Mike) Fenton, Tonya (David Beal) Davis, Troy (Rebekah Tvedt) Davis, Tricia (Rob) Jackson, Toby (Jennifer) Davis, Jason (fiancée, Aly Herbig) Stout, Kori (Aaron) Hoffman, Kyle Stout, Brent (Hillary Cooper) DeJong, Andrew (Sabina Bagirov) DeJong and Matthew (Lisa) DeJong; great-grandchildren, Josh, Shawn, Brooke and the future Brodee Allan Davis to be born in December, Kandi and Ashley Fenton, Amanda Shaffer and Christopher Beal, Trent, Nathanial and Seth Jackson, Jacob and Jade Davis, Hallie and Mallorie Hoffman; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Klecker, Joyce Land, Bonnie (Skelly) Speers and Dixie (Mike) Magee; brother-in-law, Merrill (KuMai) Lawler; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and best friend and caretaker, Carlena. Predeceased by parents; wife, Beverly; daughter, Debbie Stout; great-granddaughter, Savanna; and son-in-law, Tom Johnson. He left the here and now with the Bears winning and his family toasting him on his journey to a better place with a bottle of Miller Lite. Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Al will be laid to rest next to his wife and daughter in Sunset Memorial Gardens. We are thinking of you all at this difficult time. Al was such a great person and will be missed by many. The lake wouldn't have been the same without him! I know how much he missed Bev so it's comforting to know that while we will all miss him here he is with her, happy and watching over everyone.
