Bette Konstant

bette jean (stroberg) konstant, 84 WINNETKA - Bette Jean (Stroberg) Konstant, 84, of Winnetka passed away Feb. 1, 2012, in Naples, Fla., with her family by her side. She was born July 2, 1927, in Rockford to Walter and Emma Stroberg. Bette attended Hope College and graduated from St. Luke's Presbyterian, Chicago, as a registered nurse. While in nursing school, Bette met Anthony Konstant, and they were later married in Rockford. Bette was a passionate pediatric nurse and continued a strong affiliation with Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital. Active member of Kenilworth Union Church. She was a devoted supporter of many philanthropies, including The Chicago Botanic Gardens, Art Institute, Field Museum, and Museum of Science and Industry. Bette enjoyed gardening, boating, fishing, shelling, travel, music, and art. She devoted much of her time and energy to her family members, and will always be remembered with a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face. Bette is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Anthony Konstant; children, Pam Stutz (Rene) of New Canaan, Conn., Paul Konstant (Donna) of Winnetka, Joan Fieldhouse (Jim) of LaGrange and Peter Konstant of Hinsdale; 10 grandchildren; and one great- granddaughter.
