BRUNO J. CATALANI, 96 ROCKFORD - Bruno J. Catalani, 96, of Rockford died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009. Born Jan. 6, 1913, in South Beloit, the son of Louis and Adele Catalani. Lived most of his life in Rockford. Married Anna Spera in August 1937; she died in 1940. He then married Susie Falzone in June 1941; she died in 1984. Member of St. James Catholic Church, Verdi Club and the Lombardi Club. Survivors include sons, Ronald (Darlene) Catalani, Tom Catalani of Rockford and Robert (Pam) Catalani of Pleasant Plaines; grandchildren, Phil (Teri) Catalani, Marty (Lori) Catalani, Cory (Eric) Hargraves and Molly Catalani; great-grandchildren, Kailynn Catalani, Taylor Hargraves and Maya Hargraves; brother, Guido Catalani of North Carolina; sister, Frances Leombruni of Rockford; special friend and companion, Rose Veruchi; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by brothers, Dan, Joe, Nello and Notto and sisters, Helen Nicosia and Anne Fasula. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, in St. James Church, with visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service; Father Dean Russell will officiate. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
