CARL ROGER JOHNSON, 82 ROCKFORD - Carl Roger Johnson, 82, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 30, 2013. He was born on January 2, 1931, in Rockford, Illinois, to Charlie and Anna Johnson. He married Janice Lindblade on July 26, 1958. Rog was a member of Local 23 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union. He worked at S J Carlson & Son, Inc. for 35 years, and Nelson Carlson Mechanical for 7 years. He was a member of First Free Church, where he taught a fifth grade boys Sunday school class for many years. Rog was also involved as a trainer for their EE and Visitation program. Rog loved to golf, fish, and play games with his family and friends. He was also involved with the plumbing on many Habitat Houses. Rog is survived by his wife, Jan; daughter, Cyndy (Bob) Fiala of Carmel, Ind.; son, Chuck (Kim) Johnson of Denver CO; two grandsons, Brooks and Kyle Fiala; sister, Ginny (Roly) Carlson; two brothers-in-law, Jim (Kay) Lindblade of Madison WI and Bruce (Dotti) Lindblade of Rockford. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Dorothy (Walter) Hafstedt. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Habitat for Humanity of Rockford or Heartland Hospice of Rockford.
