CAROL FABER HANSEN, 81 ROCKFORD - Carol Faber Hansen, 81, of Rockford, formerly of Mendota and Rochelle, died Sunday, March 4, 2012, in Serenity Hospice, Oregon. Born Nov. 15, 1930, in Princeton to Glen and Lorena (Erbes) Faber. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, and attended Reynolds Methodist Church, Rochelle and First Church of the Nazarene, Rockford. She was employed as the village clerk in Hillcrest, Vagabond Resort, Meyers Furniture and Hornsby's, all in Rochelle. Survived by daughters, Tamara (Stan) North of Pecatonica and Pamela Hansen-Hargan of Albuquerque, N.M.; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Calvin (Beverly) Faber and Fred (Aleta) Faber, both of LaMoille; sisters-in-law, Marjorie and Velma Faber; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son, Stan; brothers, Willard and Warren Faber; sister, Lola Zimmerlein; and the father of her children, Keith Hansen. Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, in Zion United Methodist Church, Mendota, with visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service; the Revs. David Sorrell and Deanna Mede will officiate. Burial in Restland Cemetery, Mendota. A memorial has been established to Serenity Hospice and Home. Arrangements by Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
