CHARLES 'CHARLIE' H. BENEDICT MILTON, WI - Charles "Charlie" H. Benedict of Milton, passed away Oct 2, 2015, at UW Madison Hospital, in the loving arms of his family. Born Jan 23, 1942, in Milwaukee, WI to Helen and Fred Benedict. Graduated in 1959, from Big Foot High School in Walworth, WI. Proudly served in the US Navy as a Sonar operator from 1959 to 1963. He then worked at Heavy Duty in Lake Geneva from 1963 to 1966, when he started working at Chrysler Corp in Belvidere, IL. He worked various positions until he retired in 2001, after 36 years of dedicated service. He married his beloved girlfriend, Terri Ehle on Nov 16, 1963, at St Catherine's Catholic Church in Sharon WI. He has four children, nine grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He was a devoted family man and loved spending time with all of them. He was passionate about his music, sports and fishing. He started his first band while in eighth grade. He loved playing his accordion at the Bake House and really enjoyed all the great people there, they meant the world to him. He was an avid Packer, Badger and Brewers fan. Most of all he was passionate about fishing; spending countless hours on the lake with his children and grandchildren. He truly enjoyed making people happy with his music. There is no such thing as a sad polka. Every day and every conversation started and ended with a smile. Predeceased by mother and father, Helen and Fred Benedict. He is survived by his wife, "Girlfriend" Terri Benedict; children, Colleen (Ron) Dykhuizen, Deborah (Thomas) Poyer, Steven (Michelle) Benedict, Lori (Ari) Mathos; grandchildren, Ryne, Aaron, Jacob, Levi, Chelsea, Hailey, Brenton, Nichols, Morgan; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Nyla, Henry, Milee; sister, Sue Nicholas; and many aunts and uncles. Services will be held at Toynton Funeral Home in Walworth, WI. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the time of service at noon on Saturday, October 10. A reception and fellowship at Christ Lutheran Church in Sharon, WI will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
