Constance Rosenquist Obituary

CONSTANCE (CONNIE) ROSENQUIST, 89 LOVES PARK - Connie Rosenquist fell asleep in death, December 14th, 2013, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, in Clanton, Alabama. She was born as Constance Gucciardo on September 5, 1924, in Crystal City, Missouri, the daughter of Anthony and Dominica Gucciardo. Raised in Rockford, she married Karl (Smoky) Rosenquist in Rockford on July 17th, 1943. Connie and her sister, Genevieve (Gen) Gucciardo/Curtiss enjoyed a life-long, close relationship - seeming inseparable. In the 1950's they purchased homes on the same street in Loves Park, IL. After Connie's husband, Karl Rosenquist, passed away unexpectedly in 1972, Connie, Gen & Myron Curtiss remained constant companions. All 3 were members of the Riverside Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses June 20th, 1939. Her greatest joy came in telling others the Good News of God's Kingdom. (Matthew 24:14). She was a faithful servant of the true God Jehovah for over 74 years. Connie helped many come to an accurate understanding of God's Word, the Bible. She believed that soon God's Kingdom in the hands of Jesus Christ will bring wonderful blessings to the earth. One of the greatest blessings will be the ending of sickness and death. (Revelation 21:3,4) Her family is confident that she is in Jehovah God's memory, and that in God's due time she will be resurrected to life on earth. (John 5:28,29) Connie dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she enjoyed watching them grow up. One of her greatest pleasures was cooking meals for family and friends. Friends became like family at Connie's house. She hosted a Sunday dinner in her home for over 50 years. Connie made desserts that were enjoyed by many. She worked for many years as a Cafeteria Cook for the Harlem School District in Loves Park, IL and as a hostess at Top Hat restaurant for over 10 years. Connie is survived by her daughters, Carole (Ben) Stine of Byron, IL and Linda (Jimmy) Robinson of Clanton, AL. She was a loving grandmother, "Nana", to Dawn Robinson, Andy (Nikki) Stine, Cammie (Pat) Thomas, Jeremy Stine, Danny Robinson, Karla (Jared) Adams; great-grandchildren, Lacey and Blaine Weber, Keegan Robinson, Slade Robinson, Kasidi and Carson Thomas. She was a loving Aunt to her nephews, Jim (Mary) Curtiss and John (Cheryl) Curtiss. She is also survived by many cousins and extended family. Preceded in death by husband, Karl Rosenquist; parents, Anthony and Dominica Gucciardo; sister, Genevieve (Myron) Curtiss; her brothers, and great-granddaughter, Kenidi Thomas. Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28th, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3645 West Riverside Blvd., Rockford, with visitation from Noon to time of service. Gary West will officiate.
