David Loy Obituary

DAVID N. LOY, 77 ROSCOE - David N. Loy, 77, of Roscoe went to be with his Lord and Savior at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, in his home. Born Oct. 11, 1931, to Edward and Ruth (Nelson) Loy. Self-employed in janitorial services. Married the former Darlene Anderson on May 28, 1955, in Rockford; she died in 2002. Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army. David enjoyed fishing, gardening, dancing, old music and playing the piano. Survivors include sons, Dan Loy of California and Mark (Trish) Loy of Arizona; daughter, Melodie (Robert) Gustafson of Roscoe; sister, Marion (Dwayne) Aldrich of Machesney Park; grandchildren, Kim (Ed) Cunley, Casey, Zach and Travis; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Skylar, Zac and Alyssa. Predeceased also by parents; brother, Bill Loy; and sister, Helen Smith. Service at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., Roscoe, with visitation from 11:30 a.m. to time of service; the Rev. Kenneth Bergstedt of Hope Evangelical Free Church in Roscoe will officiate. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
