DENNIS L. 'DENNY' EKSTROM, 64 LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER AND GRANDFATHER ROCKFORD - Dennis L. "Denny" Ekstrom, 64, of Rockford died at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born March 12, 1946, in Rockford, the son of Fritz and Elsie (Holm) Ekstrom. Served in the U.S. Navy. Married Barbara C. Roos on Aug. 21, 1971, in Rockford. Member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Ford Club, Macintosh Users Group. Denny was a precise, thorough, and generous craftsman in stained glass, wood, and every project; a classic-car enthusiast in search of the perfect 1940 Ford; and fun-loving "Djampa" to his grandsons. Survivors include wife, Barbara; children, Christopher (Lisa) Ekstrom and Michele (Toon) Singmouangthong; and grandchildren, Brandon and Ean. Predeceased by parents; and two uncles. Funeral service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., with visitation from 1 to 1:45 p.m.; Pastor Reid Matthias will officiate.
