Donna Alneer Obituary

DONNA L. ALNEER, 86 ROCKFORD - Donna L. Alneer, 86, of Rockford died at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010, in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Born July 30, 1923, in Rockford, the daughter of Arthur and Lillian (Swenson) Alneer. Graduate of East High School, Class of 1941. Donna worked as a secretary for many years for Equitable Assurance Insurance Co. Lifetime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, also attended the Gertrude Circle, Friendship Sunday School Class, and the Son Risers at First Evangelical Free Church. Member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) Hononegah Chapter since the 1960s. Survived by cousins, Jeanne Eddington of Green Valley, Ariz., Marjory Morrow of Green Acres, Fla., and Roberta "Bobbie" Mellberg and Phyllis Sio of Rockford; dear friend, Eleanor Norman of Rockford; and many friends at First Evangelical Free Church. Predeceased by her parents and an infant brother. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, in First Evangelical Free Church, 2223 N. Mulford Road., with visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m.; the Rev. Wes Engstrom will officiate. Memorials to Rockford Rescue Mission, 715 W. State St., Rockford, IL 61102, or The Salvation Army, 500 S.
