ELIZABETH A. RICK, 76 CHERRY VALLEY - Elizabeth A. Rick, 76, of Cherry Valley, IL passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Elder's Eden while under the care of Northern Illinois Hospice. Betty was born September 16, 1937, in Minneapolis, MN, daughter of Raphael and Catherine (Ascheman) Spragg. Her career with Honeywell started in Minneapolis. She later transferred to Arlington Heights, IL and on to Memphis, TN, before returning to Arlington Heights, where she ended her 32 years of service. Betty will be remembered for her extraordinary love of playing cards and enjoying the company of friends and family. Her battle with Alzheimer's disease and Cancer are over at last. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Elder's Eden for their kindness and compassion to Betty. Survivors include, daughter, Becky (Thomas) Zajac; granddaughter, Lauren Wilcoxen; grandson, Erik (Marissa) Draney, brother, Charles (Sylvia) Spragg; sister, Mary Holden. A Memorial Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, in St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1114 East Anderson Drive, Palatine, IL 60074. Father Ray Yadron, Pastor Emeritus officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
