Elizabeth Swenson Obituary
Elizabeth "Betty" Swenson, 87, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2018, in Largo, Florida. Born to Frank and Edith (Billock) Osborne in Rockford on March 9, 1931. Graduate of Rockford East High School, Class of 1948. Married Donald Swenson on November 11, 1950. They were blessed with 68 years of precious time together. Betty and her husband enjoyed spending time in Northern Wisconsin and winters as "snowbirds" on Florida's Gulf Coast. Betty loved attending dinner shows, listening to Big Band music, and admiring flowers, birds, and the stars. Survived by loving husband, Don, and daughters; Karen Swenson (Rick) of Presque Isle, Wis.; Lori Swenson (Bruce); and Sandy Swenson-Burkholder (Jeff) of Rockford. Betty adored her grandson, Donnie Burkholder, who will always remember his Mormor's love-filled "famous tuna fish sandwiches." "And don't forget about all of my grand-doggies." Also survived by brother, Dick (Mary) Osborne; sister, Sue (Bob) Parker; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and brother, Dave Osborne. The family was blessed to witness loving, compassionate care at Largo Medical Center with Suncoast Hospice throughout Betty's final journey. Cremation services were completed in Florida, and a Celebration of Life is planned at a later date. A memorial donation can be made online at www.suncoasthospicefoundation.org.
