Erick Simonson Obituary
Erick L. Simonson, 83, of Rockford died peacefully Dec. 8, 2017. His gentle spirit, smile and beautiful soul will be forever treasured. Erick is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jan; three children, Brenda (Steve) Scheff, Douglas (Bernadette) Simonson and Russell (Tamara) Simonson; five grandsons; 2 great-grandsons; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Tabor Lutheran Church, 2233 12th Ave., with Rev. Jane McChesney officiating. Visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family.

I was saddened to read of Erics passing. As I read his obituary the words described the Eric I knew also.
For many years I had my vehicles repaired by Eric and found him to be fair and honest in his business.
I also was a friend of his brother Lenny, whom I graduated with and was in the Navy reserves with.
Years ago Eric,Lenny and I went fishing at the cottage in WI. I have to admit, night fishing for catfish exposed us to more mosquitos than I had ever encountered, but the fellowship was paramount to the trip.
My deepest condolences to your family and how fourtunate you are to have had Eric as an example of how to live life,
