Frances Sheedy Obituary

FRANCES L. (FRAN) SHEEDY, 84 SYCAMORE - Frances L. "Fran" Sheedy, 84, of Sycamore died Sunday, May 11, 2008, in her home. She was born March 8, 1924, in Melrose, Iowa, daughter of Robert and Marie (Sinnott) Lee. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael H. Sheedy on Sept. 5, 1944, in Melrose. Fran was a graduate of Melrose High School. Her graduating class had 24 students. She was a member of the Church of St. Mary in Sycamore, Sycamore VFW Auxiliary and Ladies of the Elk. Survived by husband of 63 years, Michael Sheedy of Sycamore; daughter, Gail (Michael) Brantner of Sycamore; son, Dennis (Mary) Sheedy of Parker, Colo.; grandchildren, Randi Brantner and Aaron Sheedy, both of Colorado, Danielle O'Dell of Florida, Katie Brantner of Sycamore and Kellee Sheedy of Washington; great-grandchildren, Robert Perez, Patrick Brantner, Scott Brantner, Bailey O'Dell, Riley O'Dell and Kacey O'Dell; stepgrandchildren, Rachel Williams of Arizona and Carter Hunt of California; step great-grandchild, Marlee Williams; sisters, Mary Jo (Vince) Beary and Margie (John) Curran, both of Iowa and Rose Ianni of Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; and brothers, Bernard Lee and Robert Lee. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 15, in Church of St. Mary in Sycamore, with Father Tim J. Sheedy officiating. Burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, in Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, with a wake service being recited at 6:30 p.m. For information call 815-895-2833.
