Franklin Taylor Obituary

FRANKLIN A. TAYLOR, 82 KIRKLAND - Franklin A. Taylor, 82, of Kirkland, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born Jan. 30, 1925, in Esmond, the son of Forest A. Taylor and Josephine (Bue) Taylor. He married Helen Ruth Schriver on June 24, 1944, in Rockford. He was a valedictorian graduate of Fairdale (Ill.) High School and farmed in the Kirkland area all of his life. He also worked for the Franklin Township Road District and was a bus driver for Hiawatha schools. He was a member of DeKalb County Farm Bureau, the education board and the ASCS. He was an airplane pilot and member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He is survived by wife, Helen Ruth Taylor of Kirkland; daughters, Connie (Keith) Nelson of Roscoe, Bonnie Lorensen of Kirkland and Mary (Roger) Powell of Fairdale; sons, Ronald (Janet) Taylor and Bradley (Mary Ellen) Taylor, both of Kirkland; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Bradle of Monroe Center; several nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. Predeceased by parents; brother, Willard Taylor; a special nephew, Bill Taylor; sister-in-law, Audrey Taylor; and brother-in-law, Raymond Bradle. Service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in Quiram-Kirkland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the funeral home. Memorial fund is established for DeKalb County Hospice in care of Quiram-Kirkland Funeral Home, 309 S. Fifth St., P.O. Box 337, Kirkland, IL 60146.
