GERALD 'JERRY' R. CONRAD, 80 ROCKFORD - Gerald "Jerry" R. Conrad, 80, of Rockford, passed away October 18th surrounded by his family. Born November 10, 1933 in Beloit, WI; he was the son of Ruth Conrad. He married Joyce Hunt on April 28, 1953 in Arkansas. A U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of North Love Baptist Church, where he fellowshipped with the Jolly Sixties. He also retired from Unison Industries after 10 years of employment. Jerry enjoyed working on tractors, watching westerns, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Joyce Conrad; sons, Glen "Skip" (Shelley), Bradley "Scott" (Valorie), and Caleb Conrad; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Vivian and Cynthia Schaaf; brothers, Darryl (Linda) and Sidney (Val) Schaaf; sister-in-law, Linda (Roger) Cleveland; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Joyce) Hunt; special friends, Al, Paul and Sharon Block; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Gary Hunt. Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, October 23rd, at North Love Baptist Church, 5301 E. Riverside Blvd.; Pastor Paul Kingsbury officiating. Visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, at Sunset Funeral Home and 10 a.m. to time of service at the church, October 23rd. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
