Geraldine Mathison Obituary

Geraldine M. Mathison 1928—2016
Geraldine "Geri" Marie Mathison, 88, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016. Born October 23, 1928 in Madison, WI to Edwin and Evelyn (Weffold) Baldwin. Married George Mathison on January 22, 1954 in Rockford. Geri dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved listening to her grandsons play the piano and guitar, and her favorite song was "You Are My Sunshine." Geri greeted everyone with a warm smile and a friendly hello. She loved her family at Independence Village who treated her with love, tenderness, and respect. Most of all she loved Jesus with all her heart, and we thank Jesus for giving us such a kind and loving Mom. She was dearly loved and will be missed. Survivors include daughters, JoEllen Sarff, Jan (Dan) Allen; grandchildren, Joey Sarff, Corp. Ben Allen USMC, Brandon Allen; sister, Elaine Schulstrom; niece and goddaughter, Dawn (Dan) Horvat; nephews, Scott Schulstrom, and Steve (Chris) Schulstrom. Predeceased by husband, George; and parents. A special thanks to Alpine Fireside for their loving care of our mother.
