Gloria Calvagna Obituary
Gloria Y. Calvagna, 79, of Rockford, passed away peacefully in her home on November 23, 2018. Born December 23, 1938 in Alexandria, MN; she was the daughter of Alfred and Florence (Erickson) Johnson. She married Russell "Russ" A. Calvagna on June 30, 1962 in Rockford.
A member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Gloria was a former employee of American Insurance and the Rockford School System's Food Service Department where she was employed for more than 20 years.
She enjoyed reading daily biblical devotions, traveling with Russ, baking, attending her granddaughter's volley ball events and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Jay Calvagna; and Jill Koch; granddaughter, Faith Koch; twin sister, Grace E. King; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Vie Davig.
Funeral Mass 10:00 am, Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford. Visitation 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford and will continue at 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the church. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
