GLORIA A. GILBERT, 77 LOVES PARK - Gloria A. Gilbert, 77, of Loves Park passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, in Provena St. Anne Center. Born July 28, 1933, in Rockford, the daughter of Frank and Lilian Wenstrom. Married Richard Gilbert on July 28, 1951; he died Nov. 28, 2010. Graduated from East High School, Class of 1951. She worked at S&H Green Stamps Store and Woolworths, but she was a homemaker at heart. She was a great cook, and her desserts were the best. Gloria was an animal lover and always had a dog or two all her life. She loved spending time with her family and dancing at the Moose Club with Richard. She will be dearly missed. Survivors include son, Doug (Geri) Gilbert of Roscoe; daughter, Karen (Steve) Thomas of Rockford; grandchildren Russell, Kyle and Laura Gilbert of Roscoe, Lindsay Stewart of Loves Park, and Ryan (Kim) Stewart of Rockford; great-grandson, Noah Stewart of Rockford; brother-in-law, Ron (Jan) Gilbert of Scottsdale, Ariz.; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Buddy Predeceased also by parents; sister, Arlene Robb; and brothers, Clayton and Stanley Wenstrom. Service at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, at Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Rockford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, with visitation from 1 p.m. to time of service.
