H. Luella Larson

H. LUELLA LARSON, 90 ROCKFORD - H. Luella Larson, 90, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, in SwedishAmerican Hospital after a short illness. She was born January 20, 1925, in Rockford, IL; the daughter of Henry E. and Olga E. (Anderson) Anderson. Luella was a 1944 graduate of Rockford East High School and attended Augustana College. She married Robert P. Larson October 30, 1954, in Rockford; he predeceased her January 7, 2001. She was a member of Rockford Secretaries Association where she worked with Dr. Magnelia and later Mid States Screw Corporation in the late 1940's and 1950's. Luella was later a mother and homemaker. She moved to West Liberty, Iowa in 1971, returning to Rockford in 2006. She was a former member of Bethesda Covenant Church, where she was confirmed and married, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in West Liberty, Iowa, and currently a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. She is survived by her children, Larry R. Larson of Laurel, MD and Gary L. (Nanette) Larson of Batesville, IN; grandchildren, David, Tess, Daniel Larson, and adopted grandson, Joshua Banks; brother, Graydon H. (Ruth) Anderson; sisters, Vana R. Turner and Rita L. (John) Swenson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister, June (Jack) Welsh; brother-in laws-and sister-in-laws, Russell (Eleanore) Larson, Helen (Jerome) Nordby, and Gene Turner. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2015, in Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 2715 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, with Pastor Marilyn Hanson officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service in the Church.
