HAROLD L. PETERSON 'HLP $$$', 74 ROCKFORD - Harold L. Peterson, "HLP $$$", 74, of Rockford went to be with the Lord at 12:35 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, in Rosewood Care Center after an extended illness. Born Feb. 5, 1933, in Rockford, the son of Roy W. and Frances (Roettger) Peterson. Lived his entire life in Rockford. He married the former Regina A. Mintz in August 1953 in Rockford. He was employed as a machinist at National Lock and Sundstrand in earlier years. He graduated from Lincoln Park School. Survivors include daughters, Karen (Ray) Poffenberger of Rockford, Maureen (Steven) Solverson of Rockford, Kelli Kay (Scott) Melan of Loves Park; five grandsons and five great-grandchildren; and special cousin, Bev Johannes. Many special friends include Mona Richmond, Tim McHugh and Jimmy and Jean DiGellonardo. Special thanks to SwedishAmerican Heart Hospital, nurses at wound care clinic, Rosewood Care Center and Heartland Hospice. Memorial service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, in Forest City Baptist Church, 4241 Pepper Drive, with Pastor Tim Ramsden officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family. I remember when I was a boy when Uncle Harold and my dad gifted us kids baseball equipment. It is a good memory.
