Harold Spangler Obituary

HAROLD WILLIAM SPANGLER, 72 LADYSMITH, Wis. - Harold William Spangler, 72, of Ladysmith died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, in Rusk County Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. Born Oct. 19, 1937, in Rochelle, Ill., the son of late Helen and Lee Spangler, the oldest of five children. Married Carol Lersch on April 9, 1961, in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rockford, Ill. Survivors include wife of 48 years, Carol; daughter, Connie Spangler of St. Paul, Minn.; son, Brian (Robin) Spangler of Elmwood; grandchildren, Justin Meacham, Brian Spangler Jr. and Kerstin Spangler; great-granddaughter, Chloe Meacham; brother, Gary (Marge) Spangler of Loves Park, Ill.; sisters, Vivian (Jim) Jaworowski of Rockford, Wilma (Bill) Lindsey of Machesney Park, Ill., and Shirley (Dick) Reeves of Machesney Park; several nieces and nephews; four aunts, two uncles and several cousins. Memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, in Hope Lutheran Church in Ladysmith, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Women With Courage Foundation or to Rusk County Public Library. Arrangements by Nash - Jackan Funeral Home, Ladysmith.
