HELEN 'GINGER' ANDERSON, 75 ROCKFORD - Helen "Ginger" Anderson, 75, of Rockford died at 3:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center Emergency Room. Born March 4, 1933, in Rockford, daughter of Oscar and Helen M. Morehead Dahlquist. Married Stephan H. Anderson in Rockford on Aug. 2, 1958. Member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Graduate of East High School. Ginger really enjoyed synchronized swimming, needlepoint and the summers she spent at Camp Rotary. She formerly volunteered at the Boys Club, Tinker Cottage and Rockford Day Nursery. Survivors include husband, Stephan; daughter, Cheryl (Allen) Konitski; grandchildren, Stephan (Zandra) Northrup and Alex "AJ" Konitski, all of Rockford; brother, William (Margaret) Dahlquist of Oconomowac, Wis.; sister, Joanne (James) Flood of Palm Springs, Calif.; and "Lilly", her blue healer mix puppy will miss her. Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2821 N. Bell School Road, Rockford, the Rev. Bill Ward will officiate. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 28, in Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home, also from 10 a.m. Tuesday to time of service in the church. Memorials may be given in care of the family for the organ fund at church or for the Humane Society. For online register, visit welte funeral.com.
