Jerry Clifton French, 72, of Rockton passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018. Born April 13, 1946, in Corning, AR to Lenard French and Lorene (Carter) Small. Married Katherine L. Kuykendall August 11, 1979, in Rockford. Employed as the Assistant Manager for Walmart, Rockton, for 18 years. Jerry enjoyed raising fancy show pigeons, working on his car, and gardening with his wife. Survivors include wife, Kathy French; children, Vicki Thompson, Patti (Chris) Lawrence, Debbie Chamberlain, Fran (Bill) Close, Mike (Darla) French, Crystal French; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry (Lora) French, Gary (Sue) French, Joe (Verna) French, Raymond (Lisa) French, Lenny (Sarah) French, Roger (Julia) French, Bobby (Karen) Small, Danny (Sherry) Small; and sisters, Verlene (Rubin) Chavez, Carlene Harris. Predeceased by parents; stepmom, Hazel French; stepdad, John Small; and brothers, Mike French, Jeff French, and infant brother.
Celebration of life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Midway Village, 6799 Guilford Road, Rockford, IL 61107. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
