JOAN R. PERRETT, 84 ROCKTON - Joan R. Perrett, 84, of Rockton died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at her home. Born July 11, 1928, in Belvidere to William George and Ruth Mabel (McKiski) Kasper. Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lived all her life in the Belvidere/Rockford area. Graduated from East High School. Married A. Wallace "Wally" Perrett on July 6, 1947, in Rockford. Joan enjoyed her family, sewing and gardening on their farm in Boone County. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at St. Joseph Hospital. Joan was a Scout den mother for many years. She was employed at Marshall Fields & Co., for 13 years in the better dress and fur salon. Member of Beaver Valley Grange for several years. Member of First Evangelical Covenant Church. Chairwoman for Arlene Circle two years. Joan and Wally wintered on Singer Island, Fla., for many years. Surviving Joan are sons, W. Wayne (Sue) of Rockford, Mark (Cindy) of Atlanta and Lawrence (Jean) of Rockford; eight grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; and close friend, Norlan Arensdorf. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Wally, who passed Oct. 10, 2009; parents; and brothers, Wesley and Gordon. Private family burial service. Open house to celebrate Joan's life from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at First Evangelical Covenant Church, 316 Wood Road, Rockford.
