JOANNE E. STRAND, 85 ROCKFORD - Joanne E. Strand, 85, of Rockford, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. She was born October 9, 1930, in Rockford; the daughter of Wendell G. and Inez H. (Ahlstrom) Olson. Joanne was a 1948 graduate of East High School. She married Richard O. Strand on June 7, 1952, in Rockford, Illinois; he predeceased her April 9, 1982. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Forest Hills Country Club in Rockford and a Charter Member of White Shrine of Jerusalem in Poland, Ohio. She was employed with Victory Tennis Club & Manor Enterprises, Inc. She is survived by her son, Kevin (Nancy) Strand of Sagamore Hills, OH and daughter, Pam Strand of Wheaton, IL; grandsons, Rick and Andy Strand; granddaughter, Alyssa (Charlie) Marhevka; 2 nieces; 3 nephews; cousins; and close family friends. Predeceased by sister Midge (Paul) Wilber on October 15, 2015. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford, with Rev. David Petty officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation will from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service in the chapel.
