JOHN G. "JACK" PETERSON, 85 BALTIMORE, MD. - Jack Peterson died peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2015, at home with his family in Baltimore, MD. Jack was born in Rockford, IL., on July 30, 1930. He graduated from East High School and went on to study art in Chicago. He returned to Rockford where he was a successful illustrator for over 35 years. Jack suffered a serious head injury in 1989 and was unable to continue the art career which he loved so much. In spite of the difficulties that followed, he maintained his positive outlook on life, greeting friends and strangers alike with a handshake and a smile. He cared about others and they cared for him in return. Jack is survived by Alice, his wife of 62 years, and their children: Michael and wife, Deborah, of Austin, TX., Jonni and husband, Tom, of Baltimore, MD., and David and his wife, Mary, of Andes, NY. "Grandpa Jack" will be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Phillip and his wife, Genevieve, Sarah and her husband, Kevin, Ian, Meg and Hannah, along with his 3 great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Kyle and Olive. We will remember Jack always, for his generous spirit and for all the lives he touched. You are in our hearts and will always be, as you used to say of others, "a hundred percent plus!"
