JUNE E. (HAGELIN) FOSTER, 86 ROCKFORD - June E. (Hagelin) Foster, 86, of Rockford passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, in Highview in the Woodlands, Rockton. Born June 20, 1929, in Rockford, the daughter of John W. and Mabel E. (Larson) Hagelin. June graduated from East High School in 1947. Married John B. Foster on June 8, 1951, in Rockford. June resided in the Washington DC area and worked as a secretary in the Pentagon. She returned to Rockford in 1966, attended Rockford College, graduating in 1970. In 1974, she took a position in Washington DC as secretary to John B. Anderson, U.S. Representative from the Illinois 16th Congressional District and served on his Presidential Campaign staff in 1980. Survivors include her brother, Rev. Gerald (Iris) Hagelin; sister, Carol (Rev. Charles) Firman; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceased by her husband; parents; and brother, John R. Hagelin. Special thank you to Highview in the Woodlands for their loving care. Gathering of family and friends will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at First Evangelical Free Church, 2223 North Mulford Road, Rockford.
