Kay Sward Obituary
Kay B. Sward, 88, of Rockford passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Christmas Day, December 25, 2016. Kay was born in Rockford on July 20, 1928, to H. Everett and Leatha Jane (Bridges) Brentner. She was a proud and active member of her church and steadfast in her faith. Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and dear friend, she will remain in our hearts forever. Kay is survived by children, Kristine (late Robert) Sleezer, Roberta (Tom) Rondone, Robert (Wendy) Sward Jr. and Elizabeth Peterson; grandchildren, Alison Beehler, Nicholas Sward, Jason (Meghan) Sleezer, Thomas (Crystal) Rondone, Amanda (Corey) Oliver, Adrienne (Dan) Kramer and Matthew (Andrea) Rondone; great-grandchildren, Piper, Bo, Chloe, Rocky, Nolan, Dierks, Landon, Price, Olivia, Malone and Luca; sister, Norma (Elmer) Lewis; brother, Glen (Rose) Brentner; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Franklyn Sward Sr; brother, H. Everett Jr.; and sister, Mary Hoffman.
Private graveside committal service to be held at Willwood Burial Park. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission.

Fondly thinking of my Aunt Kay tonight. I know how much she will be missed by her family. May the memories keep her alive or at least close to your hearts. My memories of her are from years past, but still so vivid. She will be dearly missed. Much love to my cousins and families.
