Lillian F. Dietz 1928—2017
Lillian F. Dietz, 89, of Rockford, died at Wesley Willows on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. She was born March 24, 1928, in Rockford, the daughter of Olaf and Gerda (Clausen) Person. Graduate of East High School, Class of 1945. Lillian married Harold Dietz on May 1, 1965; he predeceased her. She was employed by Rockford Public School working in the Administrative Office for 40 years and by the Regional Office of Education on a part-time basis for 25 years. Lillian was a member of Brooke Road United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, a former member of International Secretaries Association, Zonta Club and Rock Valley College CLR. She is survived by her nephew, Steve (Janice) Westlund; brother-in-law, Bob Westlund; grandnieces, Beth (Rob) Dahl, Katie (Mike) Scott, and Aly Monson; great-grandniece, Madeline Dahl; and great-grandnephew, Henry Scott. Predeceased also by her sister, Ellen Westlund and niece, Pam Monson.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2017, at Brooke Road United Methodist Church, 1404 Brooke Rd., Rockford, with Pastor Nancy Vidad officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the church. Memorials may be made to Brooke Road United Methodist Church, 1404 Brooke Rd., Rockford, IL 61109.
