Marilyn Ekedahl

MARILYN JEAN EKEDAHL ROCKFORD - Marilyn Jean Ekedahl passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, in her home. Born April 21, 1932 to Thomas and Gertrude Johnson. She was a 1950 East High graduate. Marilyn was married to Ken Ekedahl for 60 years. Together they owned and operated Lincoln Bakery and Fairview Bakery. She was a lifelong active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and belonged to the Linda Hallberg Circle. Survived by her daughter, Lynnell (Tim) Finley; granddaughter, Michelle Gough; great-granddaughters, Lauren and Anna Dulmage; sister, Mardel (Charles) Yonikas of Georgetown, Texas; nephew, Maury (Karen) Filips; niece, Charlynn Yonikas. Special thanks to friends, Bill Mortonson, Stacey and Mark, Louise Brattland, Toni Chujko, Barbara Donahue, Shirley Wilson, Jeanette Auman, and her caregivers, Mouky, Jackie, Sue and Sonny. We will miss her and always remember her wonderful sense of humor even in the most difficult times. Services at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 200 North 1st Street, Rockford, Illinois.
