Michele Joike Obituary
Michele K. Joike, 48, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016. Born August 17, 1967, in Washington DC, the daughter of Trevor and Rebecca Ann (Upchurch) Joike. Michele earned her JD from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul and her PhD in Molecular Biology from University of Illinois at Chicago. She was a Patent Examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Michele loved animals and was an avid bridge player. She also enjoyed to read and travel. Lovingly survived by her father, Trevor; brother, Trevor W. (Naeem) Joike and aunts, Patricia Upchurch and Barbara Upchurch. Predeceased by her mother, Rebecca Ann in 2013.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road. Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Michele's name to Save the Manatee and Alley Cat Allies.
