DR. NICHOLAS J. CARY, 85 ROCKFORD - Dr. Nicholas J. Cary, 85, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012, after a brief illness. Graduate of Beloit College and Loyola University. He leaves a living legacy of love, laughter and friendship. He served valiantly in the Navy during World War II, was an international foster parent for 40 years and was a revered and respected dentist in the Rockford community for 55 years, earning him the distinguished designation of lifetime member of the American Dental Association. His love and passion for dentistry, his patients and colleagues continued throughout his career, most recently for Dr. Vincent Zammuto and his respected associates at the Mulford Dental Group. He is survived by loving wife of 40 years, Niki (Gagomiros); son, James; daughter, Eleni (Dave) Cimino; grandchildren, Jalena, Alexandra and Anthony; and sister, Frances Kochicas; as well as family and friends throughout the world. Predeceased by sister, Nora Goomas. Service at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 108 N. Fifth St., Rockford. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford. Memorials may be made to Sts.
