OLAV A. BORGERSEN, 92 BELOVED HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER AND GREAT-GRANDFATHER ROCKFORD - Olav A. Borgersen, 92, of Rockford died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at home. Born Jan. 29, 1917, in Lier, Norway, to Karl and Hilda Borgersen. Served as a private in the Norwegian Army, 1940. Married Gerd Reiersen in 1943. He immigrated from Norway in 1952, with his wife and children. Employed as a sheet metal worker in Union Local 219 for 53 years. After retiring, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and traveling. Lifetime member of the Harmony Singing Society; he enjoyed and attended many singing conventions. Survivors include wife, Gerd; son, Svenn (Susan) Borgersen; daughter, Anne (Gary) Vosberg; grandchildren, Troy (Erin) Borgersen, Knute (Christine) Borgersen, Eir Borgersen, Michael (Mary) Vosberg and Cindy (Jayson) Irwin; and 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents.
