Patricia, Just heard yesterday of the sad loss of Richard to the "last enemy." I will never forget your interest in, commitment to, and concern for "the least of our brothers and sisters" in Chad -- and in your great and untimely loss, I hope the memories of the many lives you have touched together will provide some strength, just as Debara and I have fond memories of our short times together with you and Richard in MA. Thank you for thinking of Mission: Chad in your memorial (that means so much), and please know that you are in our hearts, prayers, and thoughts in these difficult days. In Christ, our only hope, Scott Hafemann (for Debara and the folks at Mission: Chad)

He fought the good fight and finished his race. May God be glorified in his death as He was in his life. We will miss him until we see him again. It is an honor to call him friend.

Condolences to the Glenny family and all those who loved Dick. He was an extraordinary person. I last saw him in Pec at the all class reunion in 2010. He had run in the Memorial Day race (finished first in his age group) and looked great. We spoke at length and he discussed taking a call in MN near Ed. He loved being a pastor and looked forward to working into his 70s. I'm flooded with memories of his high school years – football, basketball, baseball, band, etc. Playing taps at Memorial Day services. The world is a much better place because he was in it. Peace to Dick and all those who mourn his passing.
