RICHARD J. LONE, 85 ROCKFORD - Richard "Dick" J. Lone, 85, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at home, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness. Born Dec. 11, 1927, in Rockford to Leone (Nyquist) Lone. He was a graduate of East High School and Rockford Business College, and worked several years at Ingersoll and Goss Co. He then began a 25 year career at Chrysler Corp., in production control and retired in 1990. He married Florence Neubauer on Aug. 25, 1951. They spent 39 loving years together until Florence was called home on Dec. 13, 1990. He then married Lois Bergeron on June 30, 1994. He was a member of First Evangelical Free Church. Dick was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and also enjoyed watching his grandkids bowl on Saturday mornings. In his early days he enjoyed couples roller skating, playing tennis, bowling and was an avid golfer. He had a love for musicals, plays and all theater arts. He enjoyed many years as an usher at New American Theater. Richard was a devoted, caring, loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be truly missed by his family and all who knew him. Survived by wife, Lois; daughters, Suzanne Underwood and Marilee Hartman; stepchildren, Diane (Brad) Anderson, Larry Swanson, Brian Swanson and Dan (Bernice) Swanson; grandchildren, Matthew and Jaime Underwood; step-grandchildren, Chris Underwood, Sara Zimmerman, Heather Swanson, Matthew and Shannon Anderson; and brother-in-law, Clyde (Dorothy) Neubauer. Predeceased also by his parents. The family would like to thank the staff at Provena Cor Mariae for their loving care and OSF Hospice during his final days. Service at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with Pastor Bertie Holmgren officiating.
