RICHARD B. PEEBLES, 83 MACHESNEY PARK - Richard B. Peebles, 83, of Machesney Park passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at home, surrounded by his family. Born Oct. 10, 1930, in Rockford, son of Loyal and Ethel M. (Scharning) Peebles. Graduated from East High School, Class of 1948. Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Married Dolores Oberg on Aug. 25, 1950, in Rockford. Employed by National Lock for 35 years and retired from Clarcor. Member of Grace Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge 102 and National Lock Retirees. Charter member of God's People Serving Church (GPS). He enjoyed summers at his cottage at Lake Sissabagama in the Hayward area. Survivors include wife, Dodi; daughters, Kris (John Benjamin) Arduino, Kari (Duggan) Floyd and Kathi Bouland; grandchildren, Nicholas (Karen Casey), Michael and Matthew (Shawna) Arduino, Kyle Floyd, Keyea (Ryan) Duy, Brock and Haylie Bouland; six great-grandchildren; brother, John (Donna) Peebles; sister, Mary (Neal) Dahlstrand; sisters-in-law, Carol Stenzel and Shirley Carter; son-in-law, Steve Bouland; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Benji. Predeceased by parents and granddaughter, Jennifer Floyd. Service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Masonic service at 11:15 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
