Robert L. 'Bob' Cliff, 82 ROCKFORD - Robert L. "Bob" Cliff, 82, of Rockford passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, in Rockford. Born July 8, 1928, in Freeport, the son of Charles and Irene (Luce) Cliff. He lived in Rockford after moving here from Stockton. Graduate of East High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954. Married his wife, Betty Moore, on March 2, 1952, in Rockford; she died in 2007. Bob retired in 1980 from Colonial Baking Co., where he was twice honored with Distinguished Salesman's Award and retired a second time from the Rockford School District in 1991. After retirement, he volunteered at SwedishAmerican Hospital. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, fishing in Hayward, Wis., card playing and was a Cubs and Bears fan. He was a past member of St. John and Beth Eden United Methodist churches. Survived by his daughters, Sandra (Bill Farris) Cliff of Rockford and Debra (John) Swenson; stepgrandchildren, Kyle Lanham and Jeaneau, Rory and Johnathan Swenson; nieces, Julia, Becky and Ann; nephews, Curt, David, Stephen and Mark; brother-in-law, George; special friends, Jack and Jennie Masterson and their family. Preceded also by parents; brothers, Albert and Parker; sisters, Cecile, Ila and Vada; and nieces, Penny and Pam. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave. Private service and burial at a later date.
