My husband was in the right place at the right time when he suffered his 1st heart attack. He was a truck driver delivering a load just a few miles from the hospital. We thought the doc looked like Palladin and he did exceptional work, my husband was 45 at the time. Thank you for giving us 52 years together. My husband died in 2019 at the age of 73. God is sooo good!! My heart goes out to those left behind

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all! Dr. Harner was an amazing Doctor and person. He holds a special place in our family as he treated almost everyone on my Mom's side of the family. He was my biggest cheer leader and teacher as I went through his treatment! He was so intelligent, caring, patient and taught me so much! He did so much for this community and should be honored highly! God Bless the family! He will be missed greatly but never forgotten! I have his booklet in my nightstand!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Dr. Harner was a phenomenal mentor and teacher. Every patient was important to him and he wanted to do only his best for each one. His work ethic was infectious. He willingly shared his knowledge and always sought to improve flawed work processes. He was an awe-inspiring person. The medical community owes him a debt of gratitude for all of his contributions.

I remember Dr. Harner from my observation days at Swede's ER during nursing school (RVC). He had full command of the situation, and he was eager to teach students when he could safely do so, keeping the patient the focus of his attention. I don't remember a lot of docs from nursing school- but I do remember him. May he RIP- and my condolences to the family.

My Sincere HEARTfelt Sympathies to the entire Harner Family, please know that Dr.Harner touched my life in many ways over the last twenty years! During a period while creating marketing events and PR for Vitale's Cliffbreakers, it was my extreme honor to support Dr. Harner as we planned special dinners and meetings. His attention to detail, his humor, his warmth, his ability for excellence, and his appreciation always impressed me during these times we spent in the planning. Many years later while being mis-diagnosed with a massive heart problem by a Virginia Doctor, I traveled back to Dr. Harner in Swede's Cardiac Lab with EKG records in hand. After his expert review and retesting it was confirmed that the Va. doc's EKG leads were misplaced and Dr. Harner confirmed no heart issue. There are far too few physicians who allow themselves to share compassionate caring, always placing their patients's needs first and most importantly Truly Listening while observing the patient's sharings! During Dr. Harner's medical tenure in northern Illinois and Rockford, I can not think of a Better Physician! God Speed Dr. Harner for a Life Well Lived!

Thank you Dr. Harner for helping God to extend my late husband, Glen Ricker's life. Your skills were amazing. As soon as you said I want to find out why that defibrillator went off Glen said he's hired he's the doctor I want from now on! God Bless you both! I sure appreciated doing your dictations for many years as well, sometimes very enjoyable! Dr. Harner set the standard bar quite high as an extremely knowledgeable physician. With sincere sympathy, Kristin Ricker.

I remember him very fondly, he would come to Grandpas house to check on him. Buddy Buddy was teaching him French. He was so brilliant, just amazing. I can only say what a blessing he was to many. I believe he was needed in heaven. Sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss . Dr Harner will forever be in our thoughts. Back in 1997 my husband called me saying he was going to the e.r. because of pain in his arm, Dr.Harner knew our name and came to the e.r. and had my husband admitted and a angiogram done. Results came back with multiple blockages. At that time the stent was being introduced for blockages and my husband was the first one to have this procedure done. We plan on coming to the memorial to pay our respects to a wonderful man that came into our lives at the right time.
