robert edward marshall, 89 ROCKFORD - Robert Edward Marshall, 89, of Rockford passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012. He was born Feb. 26, 1923, in Rockford, to Edward and Cassie (Evans) Marshall. He graduated from East High School in 1941 and began an apprenticeship with Ingersoll Milling Machine Company. Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 as military police. He married Margaret Ellen Storz on July 14, 1948; they lived in Rockford until his passing. He was employed at Ingersoll Milling Machine Company from 1941 to 1979. He was a partner with S & M Valley Farm from 1963 to 1974 and a partner with R.E. Marshall Nursery from 1976 to 2012. Robert was a member of the Cherry Valley Masonic Lodge. He is survived by wife, Margaret; children, Rodney (Vicki) Marshall of Roscoe, James (Mary) Marshall of Rockford and Rex (Theresa) Marshall of Rockton, and Terry Marshall of Rockford; grandchildren, Heather (Wes) Stephens, Tricia (Alan) Loy, Cassie Marshall, Ben Marshall, Gus Marshall, Jennifer Fair, Matt Marshall, Katie Marshall and Sarah Marshall; great-grandchildren, Jocelynn Stephens, Alison Stephens, Nicholas Stephens, Grace Loy, Bradon Loy and Natalie Loy. Predeceased by parents; and a brother, Maynard Marshall. Service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Bill Ward officiating. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the church.
