Roger Floody

ROGER R. FLOODY ROCKFORD - Roger R. Floody, of Rockford died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, in Wesley Willows Health Center. Born Feb. 8, 1927, in Rockford, the son of Roy J. and Nola (Axley) Floody. He married Patricia Kimler on April 13, 1956, in Bloomington. Roger was a University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana graduate. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was founder of RR Floody Co. Roger was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Rockford Rotary, and six year board member of FPDA. He was a member of The Abbey Yacht Club, University Club, and a former member of Forest Hills Country Club. He loved the Lord and his family, and was an avid boater, enjoying many years of boating at Lake Geneva, Wis., and Stuart, Fla. Survived by wife, Patricia; daughters, Ann (Mark) Barwig of Watervliet, Mich., and Beth (Jeff) Rosencrans of Inverness; son, Karl (Suzanne) Floody of Fontana, Wis.; and grandchildren, Abigail Barwig, John, Greg, and Erik Rosencrans, Samantha and Annalise Floody. Service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural St., Rockford, with Pastor Jeff Fricke and Rev. Dr. Loren Nielsen officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb., 10, at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford.
