Ronald Larson

RONALD F. LARSON SR., 83 FRIENDSHIP, WIS. - Ronald F. Larson Sr., 83, of Friendship, Wis., died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Ronald was born Oct. 26, 1929, in Rockford, to Ruben Frank and Elna M. (Carlson) Larson. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Ronald married Ellen Ann Stieg on Nov. 27, 1953, in Rockford. He was part owner of Main Automotive Supply and By Pass Automotive Supply both of Rockford. He and Ellen then moved to their retirement home in Quincy Township after his retirement in 1991. Ronald worked as a railroad transporter and later at Car-Quest during his time here in Adams County. Ronald was very active with the boy's baseball program in Rockford; he coached, sponsored, and was on the board of directors of the Roy Gayle Baseball League. Ronald enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and bowling. He was a member of Automotive Wholesalers of Illinois, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Moose Club. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Foundation. Ronald was predeceased by parents, Ruben and Elna Larson; sister, Donna Lee Olson-Klint; brother, Gerald Roger Larson; and grandson, PFC Ryan Jeffrey Larson. Survivors include wife, Ellen Larson; son, Ronald Frank (Shelley) Larson Jr. and Russell Alan Larson, both of Rockford, and Ritchie John Larson of Friendship; daughter, RaeAnn Ellen Larson of Friendship; granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Larson of Rockford; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the United in Christ Lutheran Church in Dellwood, Wis., with the Rev. T. Christian Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church. Military honors will be given by the Adams County Honor Guard.
