Shirley Bischoff Obituary

SHIRLEY MAE BISCHOFF, 82 BYRON - Shirley Mae Bischoff, 82, of Byron died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, in SwedishAmerican Hospital, Rockford. She was born July 31, 1926 in Rock-ford to Elmer J. and Irene Thurman Hodapp. She married Eugene E. Bischoff on Oct. 11, 1947; he died May 7, 2008. Shirley was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lindenwood, where she was active in the Ladies Aid. They farmed in the Stillman Valley area for many years and she also formerly worked at Murphy's Restaurant in Byron. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and all sports, but she was an avid Cubs fan. She is survived by daughter, Pamela Bischoff of Andalusia; son, Thomas (Mary) Bischoff of New Windsor; and granddaughter, Karissa Marsh of Chicago. She also was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Ronald and Richard. Service at 10 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 10, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lindenwood, with the Rev. David Yarrington, pastor, officiating. Burial in Big Mound Cemetery, Davis Junction. Visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Stillman Valley chapel of Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Road, Stillman Valley. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name. For more information, visit farrellhollandgale.com.
