SHIRLEY M. LARSON, 88 ROCKFORD - Shirley M. Larson, 88, of Rockford, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014, in PA Peterson Center for Health. She was born August 22, 1926, in Rockford; the daughter of Einar and Gladys (Lundberg) Larson. She married Marshall C. Larson May 11, 1946, in Rockford; he predeceased her June 4, 2013. Shirley was a longtime member of Salem Lutheran Church and former member of Forest Hills Country Club. She volunteered her services with Jenny Lind Society, YWCA, and Rockford Day Nursery. She is survived by her children, Larry (Laurel) Larson of Wheaton, Ill. and Lynn (Rick) VanWetzinga of Rockford, Ill.; grandchildren, Scott (Stephanie) Larson of Dewey, Ill., James (Janel) Larson of Batavia, Ill., Erin (Matt) Huels of Rockford, Ill., and Lindsay VanWetzinga of San Diego, Calif.; 5 great-grandchildren, Isabella, Lucy, Ander, and Atwood Larson and Carson Huels. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2014, in Salem Lutheran Church, 1929 6th St., Rockford, with Rev. William Dahlberg officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.
