Stella Hawkinson Obituary
Stella C. Hawkinson, 98, of Rockford, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021.
Stella was born in Rockford on March 30, 1923, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Dombrzalski) Brudnowski. Stella was united in marriage to Daryl S. Hawkinson in Rockford on June 14, 1947. She was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. She was employed with Barber-Colman of Rockford for over 25 years. Stella enjoyed cooking and hosting family dinners. Most of all, she cherished her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Stella will be dearly missed.
Those left to honor her memory include son, David (Rosann) Hawkinson; daughter-in-law, Cindy Hawkinson (Brad Seago); grandchildren, Dana Hawkinson, Amy (Matt) Marver, Nicholas (Samantha) Hawkinson and Michael (Abbi) Hawkinson; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Caroline, AJ, Joshua, Alison, Ivy and Stella; sister, Edna Gustafson; sister-in-law, Helen (Roger) Myers and numerous nieces and nephews. Stella is predeceased by her parents; husband, Daryl; son, Dennis; siblings, Walter, Celia and Tony Brodeski and Helen, Janet, Eddie, Agnes and Mary Ann Brudnowski and two brothers in infancy.
Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd., Rockford, IL 61107. Visitation will be in the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Final resting place will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
A special thank you to Denise Hebeler for her assistance with care for Stella over the recent years. The family would also like to acknowledge the care and support provided these past two years by the staff at Alpine Fireside Health Center.
