Steven Wesley Barrick 1948—2017
Steve Barrick, of Caledonia, passed away Monday, December 11th, 2017. Son of Wes and Laura (Pat) Barrick, Steve was born and raised in Zionsville, Indiana, attending Zionsville High School and, later, Indiana University. A devoted husband of 48 years, he married Lynn Comer on July 8, 1969. Together they started a family and moved to Northern Illinois, eventually calling Caledonia home for over 30 years. Steve is survived by his wife, Lynn; children, Stephanie (Brad), Grant (Alison), Wes, and Sam (Karen); grandchildren, Jordan, Colton, Ben, and Sam; brother, Jim (Jane). He was predeceased by parents, Wes and Pat; brother, Gary; and sister, Marty. Known for his charitable work, faith, and service towards others, Steve gave much of his time to the Caledonia Congregational Church, The Carpenter's Place, and Northern Illinois Hospice. An avid reader, life-long learner, story teller, auto racing fan, stock car driver, and nature lover. Steve will be remembered for his big personality, sense of humor, generosity, and fried chicken dinners, around which many family and friends gathered throughout the years.
A visitation will be held at noon Saturday, December 16, at the Caledonia Congregational Church, and a service will commence at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Northern Illinois Hospice.
