Steven Bombard Obituary

STEVEN E. 'STEVE' BOMBARD, 56 BELOVED HUSBAND, DAD, GRANDPA AND BROTHER SOUTH BELOIT - Steven E. "Steve" Bombard, 56, of South Beloit passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. Born June 3, 1953, in Rockford, son of Earl D. Bombard. Married Jacquie Smith on May 3, 1974, in Machesney Park. Employed by Frito Lay in Beloit, Wis., for 29 years, retiring in June 2008. Veteran of U.S. Navy, serving aboard the USS Forrestal and Nimitz. Avid Chicago Bears, White Sox, Bulls and Illini fan. He loved darts, bowling and riding his Harley Davidson. Steve also had a newfound love for gardening. Survivors include wife, Jacquie; son, Nathan; daughters, Allie and Brandie; granddaughter, Brianna, who was the sparkle in his eye, and her mother, Heather Allen; brothers, Greg (Rhoda) Bombard and Russ (Kelly) Hunter; sister, Judy (Roger) Tangorra; sister-in-law, Debbie Moody; James Lyons, who was just like a son; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, ROA and Dr. James Foskett for the first incident. Service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 11 a.m. to time of service; the Rev. Bobby Sheets will officiate. To Nathan, Jacquie, Allie, Brandie (and everyone else):

James and Nathan were friends for at least 20 years - I hardly remember a time when they were not together.

James called me almost as soon as he found out. I'm grateful that my son was on leave and is able to be there for you.

May God grant all of you peace in this sad, grievious time.

I send my condolences for the sad loss of Steve. I worked with him at Lowes Dist.Center. He had a great sense of humor and always made me laugh, he always talked about his family and his Harley. I will always remember him.

Kay, Dean & Alicia Hafley,
It is with heavy heart I send my condolences for the loss of your brother, Steve. I know you will always remember the happy times the 3 of us had growing up together, we were inseparable. And that is the way we shall remain!! Steve will finally be reunited with your Mom, Elizabeth and your sister Joann, may they all be at peace. He will always remain in my heart also. May your memories of Steve keep you going, though the road will be rough, God has him now, in His loving arms, and he's waiting and making a place for you to be together again. Cry, laugh, and live because of him. Steve will always and forever be with you. You can't physically touch him, everything you are, and will be, Steve will be a part of everything you touch and do, he'll be there. I'm so sorry you have to go through this just know your not alone, we are all here for you.
