This is wonderful. At my age, [84] easy to lose track of someone who has moved on. Tom and I took identical paths of education and life in Rockford and worked in our family businesses for years. I will always remember how Tom was open, friendly, wise, transparent, genuine and trustworthy. He symbolized a quality of character that it clearly unforgettable. Wonderful man, husband, father, businessman and citizen.

Tom represented the best of Rockford's classic business and civic families. He was one I admired for years. Tom never missed a moment to stop and visit and be interested in what was important to you. A truly unforgettable guy with a wonderful wife and family.

Tom, our next door neighbors for 25 years, was kind, generous and the sort of person one always hopes to be fortunate enough to have as a neighbor. I can say the same of Judy. Tom was a forthright and sincere man, both serious and fun-loving as the occasion might call for. His deep love for Judy, his children, and his siblings was expressed in everything he did. Our family was sad to see them move across the river, and now sadder at Tom’s passing. He will live on in the hearts and thoughts of those who loved him and valued his friendship. Rest In Peace, Tom.

I went to West High with Tom. He was always a likable fellow. I enjoyed seeing him again at our class's 50th reunion 10 years ago.

Judy, I was sad to learn of Tom’s passing and my heart goes out to you and your family. The Mott’s (Tom, Merritt, Christine, and Mr. and Mrs. - Ned and Dag) have been part of my life since the day I was born. In that context, Tom’s obituary was incredibly heartwarming. God bless you.

Tom, You and Joe were on similar journeys. You both always had a positive attitude, knowing each day was a GIFT! I'm impressed to read your obituary that you authored! It was always a joy to with you and your family. My life was better knowing that your cared about me and my family.
