VERONA ANNA FISCHER, 89 ROSCOE - Verona Anna Fischer, 89, of Roscoe departed this life Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, in Highview in the Woodlands. Born Aug. 13, 1919, in Auburndale, Wis., the daughter of Phillip L. and Josephine C. (Heindl) Kohlbeck. Married Vernon K. Fischer on Dec. 4, 1936, in Wisconsin. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, Blessed Sacrament Sodality, Church of the Holy Spirit in Roscoe and St. Prisca Society. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Verona kept a beautiful home with her collection of dolls. She enjoyed her flowers and working in her yard. Survivors include husband, Vernon; daughters, Sylvia (Bud) LaBree of Roscoe and Constance Moore of Rockton; sons, Kenneth (Carol) of Rockford, Myron (Myrna) of Galena, Mo., and Leon (Pauline) Fischer of Machesney Park; 18 grandchildren, including most dedicated granddaughter Judy; and 24 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents; daughter, Sandra Lorraine; grandson, Dirk Patrick Fischer; and son-in-law, Michael Moore. Verona enjoyed the past four years at Highview in the Woodlands. To her it was a loving home where she was still able to enjoy the flower gardens. Thank you to the caring staff for your support. Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, with visitation from 8:30 a.m. to time of service; Father Brian A. Olsen will officiate.
